Purvi Samrat Pandit Mahendra Misir (1865–1946) was a celebrated freedom fighter, poet, composer, and a pioneering figure of the Purvi musical tradition in Bhojpuri culture. His work inspired cultural pride, social awareness, and national spirit across India.
